NFL Prediction Week 6: How smart bettors play Cowboys-Eagles and Bills-Chiefs

Sunday’s clash between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs can be likened to one of those adverts in the 1980s for an FM radio station:

Lock it, and tore the dial.

Bills at Chiefs is easily the most attractive match on the NFL Week 6 odds board and the most anticipated of the regular season. This is entirely due to the ridiculously entertaining playoff between these two teams last January.

Below are insights into facing the Bills-Chiefs and Penn State-Michigan, along with many other betting nuggets on NFL Week 6 odds and Week 7 college football odds.

Circle the wagons

In last season’s AFC Championship qualifiers, the Bills and Chiefs battled to a 36-36 draw in regulation after two crazy final minutes at Arrowhead Stadium.

To recount: Josh Allen led Buffalo to the touchdown and convert two points with 1:54 remaining, giving the Bills a 29-26 lead. Patrick Mahomes and KC followed him after just 52 seconds with a touchdown going forward, 33-29.

After just 49 seconds, the Bills put up another TD to take a 36-33 lead. There are only 13 seconds left on the clock.

But Mahomes quickly maneuvered the Chiefs into position for a 39-yard field goal, tying it at 36 to force overtime. Then the leaders win by tossing the coin and they go down the field to win, 42-36.

The bills have been on the alert ever since. And in this case, they’re back in Kansas City as a preferred 2.5 on the road instead of a non-filed 2.5, as was the case in January.

“There is a lot to unpack in this game,” WynnBet dealer John Maneka said. “WynnBet’s motto in 2021 was no one to surround the wagons like the Buffalo Bills, and I booked our trading room toward them all week until last season’s classic.”

What Manica means by that: WynnBet took a stand in that game where she needed a Buffalo Road win, or at least to cover the Bills as a 2.5-point underdog. With a different outcome for the coin toss, the WynnBet Risk Room may have gotten the outcome it was seeking. But unfortunately …

“The pain arose when Kansas City hit the miraculous field goal and won in overtime. I’m not sure if we’ve fully recovered from it,” Maneka said. “Fast forward to the rematch, and both teams look like AFC class. We’ve taken heavy action on KFC with the extra money on the money line.”

In fact, it is rare that bosses are underdogs, and even more so that they are underdogs in the house. In fact, this is the first time Mahomes has had a home underdog in his career. Some bettors give away 2.5 points and instead take KC to win straight at +125 for better payout.

But as Manica noted, there’s a lot to unpack.

“There are many conflicting betting angles in the game,” he said. The Bills have a super revenge angle but have a landslide win. Then you have the Kansas City team that won a Monday night soccer match against an opponent on one of the teams. Often this is a situation where the team’s victory is exaggerated. Arrowhead’s home field advantage is real, as another classic showdown is likely in the cards.

“This option is for sharps and recreational bettors. I expect house dog money to pile up in Kansas City, and again [us] Need the bills.”

sharp side

At least one professional bookmaker has held a position – twice – in the massive Bills-Chiefs fight.

“I took a Buffalo -2, and I took a Buffalo Pick ’em on the appearance number [last week]He also said, “Buffalo is the best team in the NFL. The line of defense will be the difference.”

Bills enter Sunday at 4:25 PM EST at 4-1 straight (SU) and 3-1-1 against the spread (ATS). Also heads are 4-1 SU but only 2-3 ATS. Buffalo and Kansas City are #1 and 2, respectively, in odds of winning a Super Bowl.

Play another game for this sharp bookmaker against defending champion Cincinnati Bengals.

“New Orleans +2. The Cincinnati offensive line will be tested in this match,” he said. “And Michael Thomas must go back to the saints. Take the team home.”

Bengals-Saints starts at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

College Football Rocks on FOX

Let’s go back to school for a few moments here, as there are some monster games in the College Football Week 6 odds market. One of those is the Big Noon on FOX fight between two undefeated Big Tens: No. 10 Penn State at No. 5 Michigan.

Michigan 6-0 SU/3-3 ATS, while Pennsylvania 5-0 SU/3-2 ATS. Professional bookies bowed to the Nittany Lions earlier this week at The SuperBook, and the public seems to like Penn State a little bit too.

“Play sharp on Penn State +7.5 and under 53,” said SuperBook Risk Manager/Odds maker Neil Fitzroy, referring to the spread and total betting. “There’s a lot of Penn State support at +7 too. Fifty-seven percent of [point-spread] Tickets in Pennsylvania.

“There is limited interest in Michigan at -7. I wouldn’t be surprised if this closed Michigan at -6.5.”

In contrast, WynnBet sees home landing favorites getting a little more attention.

“We wrote quite a few tickets on each side, but the vast majority of them are [money] Kaden Wyckwire, WynnBet’s junior trader, said:

In another FOX televised game, 7 USC put a 6-0 SU (4-2 ATS) mark on the line in front of the 20th seed Utah (4-2 SU and ATS). Interestingly, Utes are the home ground favorite with 3.5 points, but USC gets the most attention.

“Playing sharply on USC at +4, and 79% of tickets on USC,” Fitzroy said of the event by Wednesday night on The SuperBook, at 8 p.m. EST in the nightly showdown.

stay in school

Saturday’s biggest game is in the SEC, as No. 3 Alabama travels to No. 6 Tennessee. Just like Penn State and Michigan, the winner of this unbeaten clash stays on track in the hunt for College Football Playoff, while the track gets more difficult for the loser.

Alabama (6-0 SU, 4-2 ATS) is a 7-point best, but odds makers in several sportsbooks—including The SuperBook—said Tennessee (5-0 SU, 4-1 ATS) is very popular. this week.

Counting money and tickets [favored] TN at +7.5. We’re currently seven, and there’s still no interest in Bama,” said SuperBook’s Fitzroy.

The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Sunday Night Lights

Back in the NFL, the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (5-0 SU, 3-2 ATS) host the surprise Dallas Cowboys (4-1 SU and ATS). Dallas has been without Dak Prescott (thumb) since week one and isn’t expected to feature in Sunday’s game either. But the Cowboys are leading 4-0 SU and ATS behind QB Cooper Rush and a solid defense.

“Dallas made a big fortune against the Rams last week, after several major positions worked his way through,” WynnBet dealer John Maneka said of the Cowboys’ 22-10 upset from the Rams’ host. “The Eagles’ base numbers show that they are just as good as their 5-0 record. However, some may question the strength of their opponents.

“We took a sharp early bet on the Eagles -5.5. But like last week, Cowboys style and a total of 42 will definitely spur action on the Cowboys, who are currently +6. I expect a high volume of bets on this clash in prime times, as opinions are forming on the Both sides of the current issue.

under and out

Miami can’t keep their quarterbacks healthy, which certainly affects NFL Week 6’s odds of tilting the Dolphins’ home against the Minnesota Vikings. Tua Tagovailoa is still on concussion protocol, and so does Teddy Bridgewater. So third-series rookie Skyler Thompson will start.

The Dolphins are a 3.5-point consensus behind, including WynnBet.

“The quarterback put Dolphins in a bad shape,” Manica said. Coming in third is Skylar Thompson, who [played] Most of last week’s game against the Jets when Teddy Bridgewater went down. This experience is certainly useful, as Vikings come to an environment that they generally find difficult – outdoor road games. check [Minnesota’s] The result of the Eagles match earlier this year. It was a 24-7 defeat in Philadelphia, and it wasn’t close.”

Manica noted that last week’s forward-looking streak for this game was a pick but now it’s at Vikes -3.5 due to a lack of Dolphins’ QB. The bookies are not really fond of either side.

“Putting a 3.5 with the Vikings outdoors or taking the quarterback from the third series hasn’t been an attractive setup for bookies yet,” Maneka said. “I expect the money to come on the Vikings, as the fans will definitely like to support the team with a better record compared to the little-known midfielder. Maybe a surprise is on its way.”

On FOXBet, chief trading officer Dylan Brosman said that as of Wednesday night, the Vikings are one of the most popular bets this week to cover the spread. Also famous: The San Francisco 49ers, who are the 5.5-point favorites in the Atlanta Falcons.

This is a summary of this midweek report. Hope all your bets win!
