Calm offers state-of-the-art mental healthcare solutions for calm health

San Francisco–(work wireCalm offers Calm Health, a mental health care solution for self-insured payers, service providers and employers designed to bridge the gap between mental and physical health care. Calm Health will offer clinical mental health software along with tools to support provider-to-caregiver communication, drug tracking, and more that can be easily integrated into existing health technology systems.

Mental and physical health are deeply intertwined, but the current healthcare system is fragmented. In the United States, ⅔ of primary care physicians are unable to refer patients to mental health services associated with a physical health condition, although many of these conditions can lead to anxiety and depression (Harvard Medical School). And when anxiety and depression are combined with chronic conditions, we see an increase in the total cost of system care (National Library of Medicine).

“Calm Health will play a defining role in the future in how we care for our health, providing the first-ever solution for funders and service providers to simultaneously treat mental and physical health,” said Calm CEO David Koo. “By working with partners, we will give millions of people access to the care they need, reducing comorbidities and the overall cost of care.”

Users will be able to access Calm Health through their health insurance plan, care provider, or employer. Once they arrive, they will be asked to complete an in-app survey to select a care plan that meets their specific needs. Calm Health is designed to comply with HIPAA and other privacy and security standards.

“Our current healthcare system needs to evolve to meet the growing demands of our population,” said Martha Temple, former CEO of Optum Behavioral Health. “Technology like Calm Health will play an important role in this evolution by increasing access to high-quality, evidence-based mental health resources and closing critical gaps between medical and behavioral healthcare.”

Calm Health’s clinical programs will support users with mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, as well as provide instructive plans for users to prepare for treatment or take advantage of therapy sessions. Additional programs will be added in the future to provide mental health support for physical conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity, heart disease, cancer and more that affect more than 60 percent of the US population (CDC).

“There is a remarkable transformation happening in healthcare,” said Jack Rowe, chairman and former CEO of Aetna. Hospitals, taxpayers and employers understand the need for solutions that support whole person health. Calm Health has the potential to be one of the key solutions to address this shift and advance existing care offerings.”

Mental health programs have been developed by a team of clinical experts led by Calm’s Chief Medical Officer Chris Mosunic in collaboration with the brand’s industry-leading content team to provide interactive, results-based programs. The plans will consist of visual and audio content led by doctors and experts.

“Mental health has risen to the fore in our nation’s health concerns,” Coe said. “From pandemic tolls to financial uncertainty and workplace anxiety, people have turned to calm over the past 10 years to manage their mental health. As we transition into healthcare, our goal is to reach more people with clinical mental health tools and destigmatize the importance of mental health care. regular”.

Calm Health follows Calm’s acquisition of Ripple Health Group in early 2022, marking the movement of the mental health brand into the healthcare space. To introduce Calm Health to your patients or members, visit health.calm.com.
