Dolphins jump to number one in ESPN’s NFL Power Rankings – The Mercury News

Surprisingly enough, the unbeaten Miami Dolphins top ESPN’s latest NFL Power Rankings – something no one expected after last season finished 9-8.

Dolphins (3-0) jumped four places in the poll, released Tuesday morning, after their second straight win.

The biggest reason ESPN ranked the dolphins at number one was because of the appearance of the quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Tua Tagovailoa is the first start every Dolphins fan dreams about in his third season in the NFL. He ranks second in the league in assists and is already halfway to match his high career eight in touchdown assists. He also leads the NFL in QBR And he’s second in yards per attempt. The new coaching staff and improved actors around him seem to have unlocked the potential to see Miami when he was named fifth overall in 2020, which is a big reason Dolphin is the only unbeaten team in the AFC football, which enters the fourth week.

Miami, which started on its first 3-0 start since 2018, holds the top spot in the East Asian region ahead of Thursday’s game on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Dolphins withstood the high-powered Buffalo Bills, 21-19, on Sunday after recovering from a 35-14 deficit to shock the Baltimore Ravens 42-38 in Week Two.
