Former NBA star Matt Barnes He was slapped with a restraining order by the co-parents of his girlfriend’s three oldest children. Anansa Sims an ex hasband David Patterson and his new fiancée, Melissa Andinothe athlete was accused of molesting and abusing Patterson’s three children with the model at the registry according to The Blast.
Matt Barnes neglecting the Sims’ older children?
Andino filed the restraining order according to the report, explaining that the two co-parenting families were not in a good place while the children were staying with Barnes. Andino said the children “live in a house that’s dead 50 percent of the time (every two weeks when they’re with their mother).”
She shared more of her concerns in her statement.
“They said Matt only talks to them at family dinners. They said the rest of the time, he enters a room and smokes. They said they feel that their mother loves Matt more than she loves her.”
Andino, a school principal, also accuses him of harassing them in group text messages.
“This is very concerning to me since I received threats from Matt Barnes.”
Anansa Sims’ ex-husband talks on social media
It’s unclear why David Patterson, a former Atlanta Falcons player who married Anansa Sims, didn’t file the restraining order himself. His current fiancée took over, claiming that the four parents involved are all in a group message where Matt allegedly threatened and harassed them over their concerns about the children’s happiness.
Patterson shared a social media post days before his fiancée filed the restraining order hinting that he was ready to tell his story.
I miss my kids and I know they miss me too! Parents are important, it’s time for me to tell my story.
In the filing, Patterson’s fiancée also identifies incidents in which she felt Barnes’ behavior made the children feel threatened, saying:
“There are times when one of the kids starts telling me or my fiancé something that happened in Matt’s house. And another kid will say ‘Shh… don’t talk about it.’ It makes me afraid that they are being threatened not to tell us what’s going on at Matt’s house. Given the public life Matt leads Anansa. There are videos on social media of him swearing and shoving children.”

“If Matt Barnes threatens me, I’m a manager who has never said anything to him before. He will threaten a police officer. They will strangle and attack a woman… I understand why children finally told their father that they were afraid of him. I don’t think children should be forced to live with someone who abuses them. Because that’s who their mother chooses to be with.”
The judge presses a temporary suspension of the injunction
Anansa and David have three children together. Ava Brill Patterson, 11, David Bernard Patterson III who will turn 10 in November and Benjamin Patterson, 8. They were married from July 2010 to 2017. She also has a 4-year-old son, Ashton, with Matt Barnes.
Reportedly, Judge Barnes did not order the restriction of the group but set a hearing to hear each side of the story on November 4, 2022.
