From Goodbye to Ram Setu, Upcoming Bollywood Movies Coming October 2022

October is here, and so is the steady stream of holiday movie releases scheduled for Diwali this year. The month calendar is packed with some of the upcoming and interesting Bollywood movies hitting theaters and on stream. Among the films released in theaters is Goodbye – a comedy-drama chronicling an Indian family facing a tragic loss. It features Rashmika Mandanna and Amitabh Bachchan’s on-screen collaboration. The month will also see the release of Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest social comedy, Doctor G, in which he will play a reluctant gynecologist. Actor Akshay Kumar will appear in the much-anticipated action-adventure film Ram Setu. Moreover, The Chello Show or Last Film Show, India’s official entry to the Oscars 2023 will be shown in Indian cinemas, among other releases in October 2022 are Madhuri Dixit’s family drama Maja Ma and the thriller spy thriller led by Parineeti Chopra Code Name Tiranga.

After debuting with The Fame Game, Madhuri Dixit Nene is back with another digital title, Maja Ma. The film sees her playing the role of a mother – Pallavi Patel who is known for her cooking and dancing skills. When an unfortunate rumor surfaces during her son’s engagement, it causes trouble for the middle-class family. Aside from the family drama, the film features Madhuri in Garba dance sequences.

Good-bye

Goodbye is perhaps one of the most awaited films on the list. Starring Rashmika Mandana, Amitabh Bachchan, Neena Gupta and others, the movie is a comedy-drama revolving around loss. In it, members of the dysfunctional Bhalla family are reunited after an unexpected death. The film sees Bachchan and Gupta as the parents of four children including Tara Rashmika Mandana. Described as a hilarious tale of an Indian family who band together in a dark time, the film promises to be a great viewing.

Nizar Andaz

The comedy film Nizar Andaz revolves around Sudhir, a 55-year-old who has been blind since birth. He lives with a Bhavani housemaid who looks forward to his fortune. When Sudhir Ali, a clever street thief, greets Bhavani, she becomes competitive. However, the old man had plans of his own. The film stars Kumud Mishra, Abhishek Banerjee and Divya Dutta in the lead roles, and the film is directed by Vikrant Deshmukh.

Ayushman Khurrana and social comedy go hand in hand. In Dr. J, the actor plays Uday Gupta, an aspiring orthopedic surgeon assigned to the department of gynecology at his university where he was the only student. To fit in, he was asked to “lose the male touch.” The film follows the chaos that ensues as he hesitantly navigates his unexpected career. The film also features Shefali Shah as a surgeon and Rakul Preet Singh opposite Khurrana. It also marks the directorial debut of Anoputi Kashyap.

Parineeti Chopra’s next movie, Code Name Tiranga is an action-packed spy movie. The film also featuring Harrdy Sandhu sees the Saina actress playing Kismat – a highly skilled RAW agent. Kismat is driven and determined to complete her mission but her priorities change when she meets Dr. Mirza Ali of Hardy Sandhu. He asks her to marry him and eventually her mission threatens his safety. From what the trailer reveals, the movie will feature a classic ‘Love vs. Duty to the Nation’ story with a strong female lead.

Chhello Show / Last Film Show

The Last Film Show or Chello Show is perhaps one of the most interesting titles on the list of movies released in October. The Gujarati-language film is India’s official entry into the 2023 Academy Awards. As the film attracted attention for being selected in the Best International Feature Film category, it is set to be released in Indian theaters after its success in international film festivals. Directed by Pan Nalin, Last Film Show tells the story of a 9-year-old boy, Samay, who lives in a remote area. When he discovers films in the screening room of a local one-screen theater, his life changes. While he was fascinated by movies, the outside world changes with multiplexes and digital media gaining fame. The movie is a simple poem for movie lovers that deserves all the attention it can get.

Double XL is added to the catalog of upcoming Bollywood films that invoke beauty standards that are toxic to society. Starring a powerful duo – Actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi, the film is about two plus-size women who deal with obesity slander which is unfortunately normal. The slice-of-life comedy series revolves around Rajshri Trivedi and Saira Khanna dealing with body image issues while tackling the flaws of society. The highlight of the film is the chemistry between Huma and Sonakshi who deal with bizarre comedy. Zuhair Iqbal and Mother-in-law Raghavendra also play pivotal roles.

Alhamdulillah is an upcoming Bollywood comedy movie featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Ajay Devgn. In it, Devgn plays Chitragupta dressed in a modern business suit. He is charged with keeping a record of the sins and good deeds committed by human beings. When Sidharth’s Ayan Kapoor encounters a car accident, he is taken to Yamdodh where Devgn’s Chitragupta is ready to play the ‘Game of Life’ with him. Thus begins the summary of Ayaan’s many sins from anger to lust and envy. The film also features Rakul Preet Singh who plays the wife of Police Officer Ayan. From the looks of the trailer, the film directed by Indra Kumar relies heavily on visual effects as it transitions between Earth and Yamlok.

A Bollywood movie will see him in a National Treasure-esque action-adventure movie. It follows an archaeologist tasked with investigating the Ram Setu Bridge. He must prove its existence before destroying it. The film is expected to be an action packed journey with underwater sequences. It also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Charucha Bharucha in pivotal roles.
